Cambridge had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Boston Trinity Academy Lions by a score of 5-1. The five-run effort marked the Gryphons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

As for Boston Trinity Academy, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

For Boston Trinity Academy's part, Henry Marchionni put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). Marchionni also tossed no walks, which is notable because Boston Trinity Academy is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. Marchionni was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Marchionni wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexi Mamalakis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Looking ahead, Cambridge will challenge Gann Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gryphons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Heifers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. Boston Trinity Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
