Basketball Recap: Yulee Comes Up Short

Yulee lost against Hilliard back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yulee Hornets were beaten by the Hilliard Red Flashes 72-16. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hilliard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Dean out in front who went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points and five steals. Dean continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hallman, who posted 11 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Yulee and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Hilliard, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Yulee has already played their next contest, a 51-25 win against West Nassau on the 20th. As for Hilliard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-40 victory against Trenton on the 18th.
