Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 76-42 loss at the hands of the Bishop Lynch Friars.

Jefferson's loss came despite strong showings from Philip Prather and Jackson Trujillo. Prather went 5-for-10 on his way to 16 points and four steals, while Trujillo shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points. With that strong performance, Prather is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Calvin Howard, who posted two points and five rebounds.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Bishop Lynch, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Jefferson has already played their next matchup, a 40-38 defeat against Weslaco on the 5th. As for Bishop Lynch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-38 loss against Wagner on the 5th.
