Baseball Recap: Manheim Central Starts Season with Win Against Daniel Boone

Manheim Central had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Daniel Boone Blazers by a score of 7-2. For the Barons, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Blazers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2017.

Chase Book was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brody Groff, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Daniel Boone dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Manheim Central will host Ephrata at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Daniel Boone, they are taking a road trip to challenge Phoenixville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
