Softball Game Preview: Tecumseh Braves vs. Clay City Eels

Tecumseh has gone a perfect 3-0 against Clay City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Braves will be playing at home against the Eels at 11:00 a.m. Tecumseh is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

Tecumseh proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Silver Creek.

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Clay City and North Daviess had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eels never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. The one-run effort marked the Eels' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Lizzy Sinders, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep North Daviess off the board. Sinders has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Tecumseh pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Clay City, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Tecumseh was able to grind out a solid win over Clay City when the teams last played back in June of 2024, winning 7-4. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
