Basketball Recap: West Takes a Loss

After flying high against Whitney last Friday, West came back down to earth. The West Trojans fell just short of the Clifton Cubs by a score of 35-32 on Tuesday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cubs earlier this season, when they won 28-19.

Clifton was led to victory by Avary Woosley and Addison Martin. Woosley posted 15 points, while Martin went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points. That's the most points Woosley has posted since back in January of 2024.

West's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-14. As for Clifton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West has already played their next match (against Troy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clifton has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Whitney.
