Basketball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University lost against Holy Family back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The University Bulldogs took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Family Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why University lost, don't look at Coehn Nitzel. Despite the final result, he en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Nitzel's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Schminke, who posted 11 points.

University's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Holy Family, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.

Coming up, University will take on Windsor Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Windsor Charter Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Holy Family, they will square off against The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Classical Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Holy Family likes a good challenge.
