Softball Recap: Hagerstown Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

It was a proper cat-fight when Hagerstown took on Rushville on Wednesday. The Tigers never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Rylan Young's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allison Stinson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerycha Allred, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Hagerstown pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rushville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerstown will host Cowan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rushville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
