Volleyball Recap: Junction Eagles vs. Sonora Broncos

Junction had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 9-18 to make it four. They came up short against the Sonora Broncos, falling 3-0. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

As for Sonora, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-17. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0).

Sonora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayvin Gonzales, who had 17 digs and two aces. Gonzales is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Junction will square off against rival Johnson City at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th. Meanwhile, Sonora is set to take on their familiar foe Center Point at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
