Softball Recap: Stevens Point Extends Winning Streak to Three

Stevens Point strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Sun Prairie West Wolves. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly five runs.

Jordan Roth was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Roth is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Diekhus, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Stevens Point pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.3 runs this season. As for Sun Prairie West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Stevens Point will challenge D.C. Everest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sun Prairie West, they will square off against Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
