Basketball Recap: Liberty Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Liberty took a 27-point defeat the last time they faced off against Renton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Liberty Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Renton Red Hawks on Tuesday, sneaking past 74-71. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Red Hawks are ranked 194th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Renton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-10.

Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Foster at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Foster is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.8 points per game this season. As for Renton, they will host Woodinville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Renton is facing Woodinville at the right time seeing as Woodinville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
