Softball Recap: Calhoun County Takes a Loss

Calhoun County managed to slip by Ridge Spring-Monetta the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Saints lost 20-6 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Saints just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Lauryn Carter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Tamayo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Calhoun County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

While Calhoun County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
