Baseball Recap: Corner Canyon's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Corner Canyon dropped their record down to 11-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Bingham Miners by a score of 2-1. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Miners when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jacob Troast spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Corner Canyon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Whatcott, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Bingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Bingham's side, Boston Snyder tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

While Corner Canyon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
