Basketball Game Preview: Stuarts Draft Cougars vs. Clarke County Eagles

The Stuarts Draft Cougars will challenge the Clarke County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Stuarts Draft comes in on nine and Clarke County on 13.

Stuarts Draft is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 30-25 W over Luray. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Clarke County and Central Woodstock, and Clarke County kept the tradition alive. Clarke County blew past Central Woodstock 63-36 on Friday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Stuarts Draft's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Clarke County, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.
