Basketball Recap: Brazosport Christian Eagles vs. Memorial Lutheran

In what's become a running theme this season, the Brazosport Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Memorial Lutheran with a sharp 66-45 victory. Winning may never get old, but Brazosport Christian sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Brazosport Christian was led to victory by Elijah Burris and Ethan Nelson. Burris scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Nelson scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Nelson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson Catoe, who scored eight points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Memorial Lutheran still got an impressive performance from David Porter, who scored 15 points. Porter hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. Alex Zamora was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Brazosport Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Memorial Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Brazosport Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Family Christian has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 2. As for Memorial Lutheran, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st. Second Baptist University-Model will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
