Menomonie was the 6-2 winner over Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Menomonie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Welch, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Menomonie's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Coincidentally, Menomonie and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln will both be playing Eau Claire Memorial the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Old Abes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Red Raiders will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
