Basketball Recap: Bear Lake Comes Up Short

Bear Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost to the Marsh Valley Eagles at home by a 69-51 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-32 last Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Bear Lake saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Broxton Birch posted nine points and seven boards. Birch is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Hulme, who scored 13 points and three steals.

Bear Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Marsh Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

As of now, neither Bear Lake nor Marsh Valley have any future games scheduled.
