Softball Game Preview: Conrad Chargers vs. Carter Cowboys

The Conrad Chargers will face off against the Carter Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carter will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Conrad extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Chargers blew past Lincoln 20-10.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wilmer-Hutchins with a sharp 18-3 win on Friday. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Matisse Edward was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Edward was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

In other batting news, Chancecellia McCray and Jalissa Silas did most of the damage at the plate: McCray scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Silas scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Silas has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadi Langdon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Carter's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Conrad, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
