Baseball Recap: Marshalltown Comes Up Short

Marshalltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 13-6 to the Roosevelt Roughriders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

Marshalltown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Roosevelt, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshalltown will take on Lincoln at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats are facing the Railsplitters at the right time seeing as the Railsplitters are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Roosevelt, they will venture away from home to take on Des Moines East at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Scarlets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.63 runs per game on average), something the Roughriders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
