Basketball Game Preview: Nutley Maroon Raiders vs. Glen Ridge Ridgers

Nutley and Glen Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Nutley Maroon Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Glen Ridge Ridgers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Nutley sitting on four straight wins and Glen Ridge on three.

Nutley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 67-55 victory over Morristown on Friday. While the Maroon Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Glen Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Bloomfield on Saturday, taking the game 57-47. Given the Ridgers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bengals are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nutley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Glen Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Nutley came up short against Glen Ridge when the teams last played back in February, falling 54-44. Can Nutley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
