Recap: Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks vs. Blountstown Tigers
The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks were the 45-31 winner over the Blountstown Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Port St. Joe fell 47-40 to Blountstown on Thursday. Port St. Joe found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 13 to 5 on offense.
Port St. Joe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Jenrett, who scored ten points along with two steals. Jayden Reese was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Artavious Jones had an outrageously good game for Blountstown as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryheem Washington, who scored no points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Port St. Joe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Blountstown, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-11.
Port St. Joe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Port St. Joe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Blountstown, they will square off against Graceville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
