Football Recap: Platte Canyon Comes Up Short

Platte Canyon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of Highland. Platte Canyon lost against Highland in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-0 score last time.

As for Highland, the win got them back to even at 1-1. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Highland had a senior duo take command as Tyler Varra rushed for 76 yards and two TDs on only five carries and Elijah Elder gained 89 total yards and a touchdown.

Platte Canyon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 36-12 defeat against Ellicott on the 13th. As for Highland, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-20 victory against Wiggins on the 12th.
