Kenedy got a massive performance out of Daniel Pena, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave Pena a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Lopez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Pena wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Kenedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for Kenedy: they were averaging 3.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 13.8.
Kenedy pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Refugio, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8-1.
