Softball Game Preview: Berrien Springs Shamrocks vs. Edwardsburg Eddies

The Berrien Springs Shamrocks will square off against the Edwardsburg Eddies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Berrien Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Benton Harbor with a sharp 18-3 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Shamrocks in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Brianna Wolff was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.8 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Alexus Ory, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.

Edwardsburg came out on top against Concord on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Eddies were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Minutemen. The result was nothing new for the Eddies, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Edwardsburg and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Berrien Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
