Basketball Recap: Spanaway Lake Comes Up Short

If Spanaway Lake was feeling good fresh off their 79-56 takedown of Bethel last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spanaway Lake Sentinels lost 82-56 to the Curtis Vikings on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Vikings are ranked 121st).

When it comes to explaining why Spanaway Lake lost, don't look at Sean Rector. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Rector's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Key'Andre White, who put up eight points.

Spanaway Lake has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Curtis, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Spanaway Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Curtis, they have already played their next match, a 64-61 defeat against Rogers on the 8th.
