Soccer Game Preview: Salado vs. Lumberton

The Salado Eagles will face off against the Lumberton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Salado sitting on 21 straight wins and Lumberton on 18.

Salado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Vidor get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Salado might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 matchups by four goals or more this season.

Needville typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lumberton proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Bluejays 6-0. Give Lumberton's defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Needville from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Lumberton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six games. As for Salado, their win bumped their record up to 26-3.
