Basketball Recap: St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K Takes a Loss

St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K lost against Lighthouse Christian back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K Knights fell to the Lighthouse Christian Chargers 69-64. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Chargers are ranked 97th).

When it comes to explaining why St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K lost, don't look at Nathan Reed. Despite the final result, he went 15-for-25 to rack up 39 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 60.9% of St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K's points, marking the third time in a row Reed has posted more than a third of the team's points. Michael Leine was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lighthouse Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Rahn, who went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Rahn is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Louderback, who put up 16 points along with five boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K and nudges their season record down to 18-17. As for Lighthouse Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Coming up, St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K will challenge Lincoln HomeSchool at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday. Lincoln HomeSchool will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K surely won't give up without a fight. Lighthouse Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Seneca on February 27th. Lighthouse Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64 points per game this season.
