Basketball Recap: Okemah Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pawnee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Okemah). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging an 85-56 victory over the Pawnee Black Bears. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Black Bears are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Okemah's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Pawnee, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Okemah will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sequoyah at 8:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Pawnee, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Davenport at 11:15 a.m.
