Basketball Recap: Ryer James Key Part of a Team Effort in Cougars Win

Rock Point saw some tournament action on Friday. They took down the Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Eagles 61-45.

Rock Point's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryer James led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. James' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tristan Begay was another key player, going 9 for 21 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Rock Point's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Rock Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-44 win against Hozho Academy on the 7th. As for Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-51 victory against Navajo Pine on the 10th.
