Recap: Quinter Bulldogs vs. Hoxie Indians
If the Quinter Bulldogs were feeling good off their 61-29 takedown of the Golden Plains Bulldogs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Quinter's rough 66-46 loss to Hoxie on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Quinter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Hoxie is ranked fifth).
Despite the loss, Quinter still got an impressive performance from Bryn Gillespie, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Kelsey Selensky was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Quinter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Hoxie, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Quinter will head out on the road to challenge Dighton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hoxie, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Goodland at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Goodland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
