Basketball Game Preview: Denver Cyclones vs. Waterloo Christian Regents

The Denver Cyclones will face off against the Waterloo Christian Regents at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Denver's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 matchups.

Denver took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 79-73 victory over South Hardin. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Tigers are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Waterloo Christian hadn't done well against Colo-NESCO recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Waterloo Christian secured a 58-54 W over Colo-NESCO.

Denver's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.5 points over those games. As for Waterloo Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
