Madden Brabec Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Wood River got the W thanks in part to Madden Brabec playing the best football he has all season. Brabec rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 105 yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 85 yards.

The victory (which was Wood River's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Brabec and Wood River will head out on the road to face off against Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Boyles Came Up Big in Superior's 42-14 Defeat

Kyler Boyles continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fourth-straight game with at least 113 rushing yards. He rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Superior dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Boyles and Superior will be playing at home against Gibbon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Beau Rohrich Makes It Two for Wood River

The second Wood River player making an appearance here is Beau Rohrich, and for good reason. He rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

This year, Rohrich has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 177.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he had one rushing touchdown.

Joey Stoner Has Career-Day on Saturday

Joey Stoner posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Saturday. He rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.

Fillmore Central is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. Stoner and Fillmore Central will be playing at home against St. Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Doniphan-Trumbull Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Ethan Ballard

Ethan Ballard's big game helped extend Doniphan-Trumbull's winning streak to five on Friday. Nobody could stop Ballard as he threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.

On the year, Ballard has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 165.6 passing yards per game.
