Moapa Valley can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Somerset Academy Losee Lions 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

While Moapa Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Somerset Academy Losee scored at least ten points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 24-26, 15-10.

Brigham Whitmore paced Moapa Valley's offense, picking up 21 kills. Whitmore got some help from Spencer Stolworthy and his 51 assists. Whitmore was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

The win got Moapa Valley back to even at 9-9. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Moapa Valley will square off against rival Virgin Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Losee is set to challenge their familiar foe Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
