Volleyball Recap: Sandy Creek Cougars vs. Fillmore Central Panthers
Sandy Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of the Fillmore Central Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Sandy Creek sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-15.
Fillmore Central can attribute much of their success to Hadley Mccoy, who had 14 digs. Mccoy is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.
Sandy Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Fillmore Central, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Sandy Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Thayer Central on Tuesday. As for Fillmore Central, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Heartland at 7:00 p.m.
