As for Gretna East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Gretna East's side, Nolan Green made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Green has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Trevor Cox looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Cox, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Gretna East will challenge rival Grand Island at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
