Baseball Game Preview: Lubbock T Titans vs. Midland Classical Academy Knights

The Lubbock T Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Midland Classical Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lubbock T has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with nine straight defeats, while Midland Classical Academy will come in with three straight victories.

Lubbock T lost 12-3 to Panhandle Christian Home Educators last Friday.

Meanwhile, while Midland Classical Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy. The Knights blew past the Eagles 10-0.

Henry Friez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kayson West was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Coy Nicholas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Midland Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Lubbock T's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Midland Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Lubbock T suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Midland Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
