Martinsville extends home winning streak to ten

Recap: Martinsville Pirates vs. Apple Springs Eagles

The Martinsville Pirates entered their tilt with the Apple Springs Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Martinsville managed a 62-58 victory over Apple Springs on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the loss, Apple Springs still got an impressive performance from Dakota Campbell, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Campbell has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kaufman, who scored three points along with 17 rebounds and three steals.

Martinsville pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Apple Springs, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Martinsville will head out on the road to face off against Slocum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Slocum is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Apple Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wells at 7:15 p.m.
