Volleyball Recap: Longmeadow Falls Short Against Ranked Westfield

Longmeadow faced Westfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Bombers. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Bombers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21.

Longmeadow's offense was headlined by Kean Jarvinen and Jace Anoje, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Nhan Vuong and his 39 assists. Anoje was also a major player on defense: he and Brendan Wujek shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Nolan Rodgers went supernova For Westfield., getting 26 digs. Rodgers has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times he's played.

Longmeadow's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Westfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-4.

As of now, neither Longmeadow nor the Bombers have any future games scheduled.
