Soccer Recap: Altamont Takes a Loss

Altamont came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to Tuscaloosa Academy. If Altamont was looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to Tuscaloosa Academy when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Altamont's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Altamont and Tuscaloosa Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Altamont (ranked 122nd) will meet Gardendale (ranked 31st) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa Academy will challenge Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 67 places (88 vs. 21).
