Basketball Recap: Candlelight Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Ronald Padilla-Cordero and Craig Morris

Candlelight Christian Academy lost against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Candlelight Christian Academy Flames received a blow as they fell 50-32 to the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks. The Flames have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Candlelight Christian Academy had strong showings from Craig Morris, who posted five points, and Ronald Padilla-Cordero, who had nine points and three steals. Padilla-Cordero has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Kalvin Kuhnke was his usual excellent self, going 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and three steals for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. Another player making a difference was Noah Howes, who put up six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Candlelight Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Candlelight Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 81-37 loss against Florida College Academy on the 1st. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool has also already played their next match, an 83-73 win against Excel Christian Academy Blue on the 31st.
