Basketball Game Preview: Ravenna Ravens vs. Streetsboro Rockets

Ravenna is 2-8 against Streetsboro since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ravenna Ravens will be playing in front of their home fans against the Streetsboro Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Ravenna has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests.

Last Tuesday, Ravenna was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Rootstown. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (56), the Ravens still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Streetsboro narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Roosevelt 53-50. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Rough Riders are ranked 492nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ravenna better keep an eye on Jack Batten. He was instrumental in Streetsboro's win, going 6 for 13 on his way to 21 points. Preston Laryea was another key player, putting up seven points and nine rebounds.

Streetsboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Ravenna, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
