Softball Recap: Meadowbrook Comes Up Short

Meadowbrook lost to Maggie Walker back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Monarchs came up short against Maggie Walker, falling 32-11. Even if the Monarchs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meadowbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Walker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Walker also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Kyjah Smith was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meadowbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Maggie Walker, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Meadowbrook will be playing at home against Dinwiddie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Maggie Walker, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hermitage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.2 runs per game on average), something Maggie Walker will no doubt try to take advantage of.
