Basketball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Irvington Preparatory Academy took a blow against the Phalen Leadership Academy Falcon, falling 82-37. Irvington Preparatory Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Irvington Preparatory Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xavier Page, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Fredrick Ellis was another key player, putting up nine points.

Phalen Leadership Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Ceon Long, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of R'Mello Watson, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Irvington Preparatory Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 win against Milford on the 27th. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-59 loss against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 26th.
