Football Recap: Prairie Grove Finds Playoff Glory Versus Heber Springs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Prairie Grove had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Heber Springs Panthers as they made off with a 34-14 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

It was another big night for Elijah Sugg, who rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Prairie Grove's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 5-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Blake Coughran was another key rusher, gaining 134 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Prairie Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 343 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Prairie Grove now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Heber Springs, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
