Softball Recap: Northfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northfield can now relate to. They came up short against the Southwood Knights on Thursday, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-1 defeat on May 14th.

Mikayla Meyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Northfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Southwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-10.

Northfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwood, they will square off against North Miami at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
