Basketball Recap: Indian Rocks Christian Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Indian Rocks Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes with a sharp 80-56 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-17.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Mekdeci and Alexavier Dorval-Ferris. Mekdeci went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points along with five assists and three blocks, while Dorval-Ferris dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most blocks Mekdeci has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Conor Whalen, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
