Basketball Recap: Marais des Cygnes Valley Comes Up Short

Marais des Cygnes Valley lost against Burlingame back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans were outmatched by the Burlingame Bearcats and fell 59-25. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Bearcats are ranked 71st).

Marais des Cygnes Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Burlingame, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marais des Cygnes Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Madison/Hamilton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burlingame, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chase County on February 7th.
