Basketball Game Preview: LEE Volunteers vs. Clark Cougars

LEE is 0-10 against Clark since November of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The LEE Volunteers will head out to square off against the Clark Cougars at 6:30 p.m. LEE is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

Last Friday, LEE had to suffer through a 98-55 loss at the hands of Churchill. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Chargers are ranked 32nd).

Despite the defeat, LEE got top-tier performance from Rosanelly Pastrano, who posted 25 points and three steals. That was a full 45.5% of LEE's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Alvarez, who put up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Clark had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past the Jaguars with a 50-44 victory.

The win got Clark back to even at 12-12. As for LEE, their loss dropped their record down to 19-10.

LEE couldn't quite finish off Clark in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 52-49. Can LEE avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
