Dixie comes up short despite Kealah Faumuina's dominant performance

The Dixie Flyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Cedar by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Dixie has suffered yet this season.

Despite the loss, Dixie still got an impressive performance from Kealah Faumuina, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks. Faumuina hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Hali Smith, who scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds.

Dixie now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Cedar, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Dixie will head out on the road to challenge Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crimson Cliffs is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Cedar will take on Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hurricane is ranked 49th, while Cedar is ranked 21st).
