Football Recap: Newsome Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Newsome managed to slip by Durant the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 50-21. The Wolves just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Although Newsome took the loss, they still got scores from Trey Gaffney, Jaikim Haggans, and Max Urbanek.

Durant's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Themar, who threw for 153 yards and three TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing, and also rushed for 74 yards and one score. Themar was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. King Rivera was another key player, picking up 123 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Newsome's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Durant, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newsome will host Alonso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens' defense has only allowed 9.4 points per game this season, so the Wolves' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Durant, they will welcome Bloomingdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
